Compensation for client injured following trip and fall

Our client suffered back injuries due to a trip and fall accident which occurred at her local shopping centre.

The shopping centre manager apologised for what occurred but would not reimburse our client for her loss of earnings.

Accordingly, she contacted us for legal advice. An application was made to the Personal Injuries Resolution Board (PIRB) in the usual course. In many cases, PIRB is a useful tool facilitating relatively prompt resolution of personal injuries claims. However, in this case, the assessment of damages was not sufficient to compensate our client for the nasty injuries that she suffered. Based on the advice provided by Brigid O’Donnell, Personal Injury Solicitor, our client rejected the assessment of damages.  Her instructions were that she wanted the matter resolved as quickly as possible.  We were delighted to negotiate a fair settlement which represented almost three times the PIRB assessment of damages provided within weeks.
